Don't Miss Our Bonsai Workshops!
Bonsai is the art of dwarfing trees or plants and developing them into an aesthetically appealing shape by growing, pruning and training them in containers according to prescribed techniques. It's a great hobby and there are many Bonsai enthusiasts and clubs on Vancouver Island. If you'd like to see what it is all about, come to one of our hands-on Bonsai workshops this month. They will teach you everything you need to know to create and care for Bonsai plants, and you will leave the class with your very own tree. Bonsai in Victoria Tuesday, November 17 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Dig This in Market Square, 128-560 Johnson Street. Mark Paterson of Nebari Bonsai will be teaching this class where you will pot up small larch and begin to train them as Bonsai. The $50 fee includes your plant, pot, growing medium and everything you need to know to create and care for your Bonsai. Please register in advance by calling 250 385 3212 as space is limited. Product Spotlight Bonsai Tools 
Bonsai Ashinaga Hasami Shears Intermediate Grade. This is a less expensive Ashinaga shear for the serious student. Its laminated construction and nice finish is a good compromise between cost and quality for serious enthusiasts. 2" blades, 7 3/4" overall length.
Bonsai Concave Cutter Intermediate Grade. The drop-forged, ground and tempered construction of this grade of tool is an excellent choice for the intermediate enthusiast. 7/8" blades, 8" overall length.
