Not many businesses survive for 25 years. We are proud to have been finding great gifts and gear for gardeners since 1982. Our success is all due to you – our wonderful customers – so on our birthday, we want to celebrate with you with a lot of fun, prizes and some great specials. Read below for details of what is happening at each store.
 

Our gorgeous solar-powered lanterns are one of our most popular garden ornaments. They charge all day, and then glow after dark. Choose from the delicate “Silk Effects” or the bright, colourful “Soji” style shown here, or the retro-look “Soji Modern”.

On Saturday, September 26th ONLY, buy one lantern and get a second lantern at 25% off. Hurry … supplies are limited.
 

During our birthday celebration, there will be cake, balloons and other refreshments. But what’s a party without prizes! Each store will be having a draw for a $250 Gift Certificate, so come by this Saturday and see if you will be one of the lucky winners.
 

Linda Gilkeson, author of  Year-Around Harvest, Winter Gardening on the Coast and West Coast Gardening: Natural Insect, Weed & Disease Control, will be at the downtown Victoria store in Market Square on Saturday, September 26th from 1 pm to 3 pm to answer all your questions about how to get the most out of your year-round vegetable garden. If you don’t already have her books, this is a great time to get an autographed copy!

While you’re there, take a moment to visit our demonstration “Lasagne Garden” in Market Square and our greenhouse, which is just full of ripening tomatoes.
 

Dig This in Broadmead Village wants to see you oldest garden tool.  With our city being such an avid gardening community we are confident that there must be lots of good old fashioned tools tucked away in the basement, garden shed or garage. Bring it in to our store and tell us its story.  We'll take a photo of it and and you will have a chance to win a $50 gift certificate.
 

Learn how to force hyacinths and paperwhites and layer bulbs in pots for lovely blooms indoors and out.  Elizabeth will demonstrate different techniques from 11 am to 12 noon during our Birthday Celebration on Saturday, September 26th at the Oak Bay Avenue store.  We have a stunning selection of spring bulbs, many of which are deer-proof.

Dig This Nanaimo is starting the celebration early with a Mocktail Party on Thursday, September 24th from 5 pm to 9 pm.  There will be in-store specials, demonstations of sprouting seeds, and, naturally, mocktails!

 We’re so sorry, but due to a shipping glitch, Dig This Nanaimo has very limited supplies of our solar lanterns. Don’t worry, you can still celebrate our birthday – come in for some cake and great in-store specials – and get a rain check for the “Buy One, Get a Second at 25% Off” solar lanterns, which you can use up to the end of October 2009.

 

Dig This Sidney is celebrating its First Anniversary this month.  To thank their customers, the first 100 customers will receive a free Bird Seed Bell.  As the days grow shorter, the birds will appreciate any extra food you put out for them.
